You have such incredible hot dry summer temps, how does one survive without AC?

Good question ...

One for Joel I think. I will tell you, most everyone here is smart enough to avoid the high temps n the afternoons. It is really a unique feeling to walk out of the office at 7 pm and FEEL the HEAT in the air even at that time.

And I will be honest...I would not live here in the summer WITHOUT AC! No way. Maybe once my Colorado Blood is acclimated to the AZ desert, I will truly be HEAT SUPERIOR!!!!!! (((thank you Viv for that phrase!!! I love it LOL)))

Summertime

July 8 2007, 6:43 PM

I really dislike air conditioning. I have a swamp cooler at home. It's an evaporative cooler that puts moisture in the air to cool it down.
Of course, I'll still run around the desert at mid-day if I'm not at work. I drink water often and prefer doing work in thge early morning if I can get the chance. If I can get my yard work done by 6:30, I'm pretty happy. It's just mind over matter and maybe a few floor fans thrown into the mix.

Life doesn't begin until it's over 105 degrees.

Joel -- you are truly HEAT SUPERIOR! Have a swamp cooler also, but temps above 105 with a higher dew point and I am thankful for the AC!!

I gotta say though, tonight it is 102 right now at 8:10 pm and I am going to smoke a ceeegar with my dad on the patio....it feels GREAT.

Joel and Phil ...

July 9 2007, 8:59 AM

Joel and Phil, I respect you guys so much.

THANK YOU for not being huge complainers. There are stupid people in Buena Vista who are complaining that it's "hot" of late, and it's only been in the 80's for highs with it cooling down in the 50's and 60's at night. I've confronted a lot of them about it. Man, what stupid people!

I just can't live in an air conditioned tomb and emegre like Dracula going out on a feeding frenzy. There's far too much to do & see in life.

Oh, I used to handle 105 degree days just fine....

...about 107 it gets a smidge uncomfortable, 115 is downright hot, and 120 is just unholy.
