Ever since i was kid, this volcanic plug always fascinated me. I also saw a B/W John Wayne movie, where he was riding a horse across the base of Church Rock.

AZ has the most versatile scenery and life zones of any state in North America! From low Sonoran desert to the Arctic Alpine zone. Only the Tropical zone does not exist in AZ. East of Kayenta, AZ-

When my camera comes back from the shop, a trip through this state is in order.

Beautiful shots Dave! That is one of the things I love about Arizona. There is so much diversity here and it is beautiful beyond what most people imagine. I would love to go exploring with you Dave if you make it down. I have had my eye on the NW part of the state for a while.

Oh and be sure and check out the AZ forum on Cactus Lover's. I would love to see you post these pics there!

I love this state!
Phil, the camera started making lines on the left side of many photos. Some were subtle, other times more noticable. Looks like "Vnetian blinds". You can slightly see those lines on these photos. Found out the CCD sensor is under recall, and i sent it in for replacement. I'm using a compact Fuji for the meantime. I'm surprised how well that one works.

Great pics too. Volcanoes leave behind some great formations.
