Hello New Mexico! I have just surfed on to your really great site.
Lived in Gold Dust, New Mexico in the early 1960's. Moved away mid 1960's then returned several years later went back and forth several times, several places in NM.
Went to elementary in Hillsboro. Mrs Hale was my first grade teacher I'm fairly sure my ol'home place in Gold Dust is no longer there. I'd post pic of my ol' home place here but can't see how to? Never will forget about the great ol'prospector neighbors. Especially that fella that lived in the cave just around the bend from us. What a cool place he had to live! Then the painter guy from town that moved out there to prospect, he taught me how to pan for gold when I was 5 yrs old. Then years later his fate was taken by a rattler.

Just stopped by to say Howdy Yall and wishing I was there.
New Mexico, ya can leave it, but your heart never will

Hope this forum brings back memories, and hopefully you can post some photos of your past and present! I also like that name of Gold Dust. Maybe Stevie Nicks could live there... ("Gold Dust Woman")
