I visited Salmon Indian Ruins on the west Bloomfield city limits recently. The ancient Anasazi people resided in the desert Southwest for hundreds, maybe thousands of years-
I couldn't stoop down safely enough to kiss prickly pear cactus on the visitor center grounds
Below the visitor center, a small village of old life is recreated on the grounds-
Many artifacts were recovered and preserved in the visitor center's gallery-
You won't find these at Wal Mart-
The walkway, which leads to the ruins-
Within the ruins-
The small doorways hint that these people were very small in stature-
A portal in time-
This trickle of spring water was crucial to the existance of ancient locals-
Inside a rebuilt habitat, that's cozy and surprisingly cool in here-
Have a seat, my friends....
Ancient indian art, circa 1980s-
A frontier home, complete with well
Hanging out at the Sweat Lodge. Man, am i sweating!

Rimmer: So, let me get this straight. You want to fly on a magic carpet to see the King of the Potato People and plead with him for your freedom, and you're telling me you are completely sane?!

Great pictures...I grew up in Bloomfield and really miss the area.
I have not been back since 1994, and I keep trying to convince my hubby thats where I want to go for vacation!

What a great day and the pics are wonderful. Are there any ancient basket weavings there?
