Flip flops for Trick or Treating? lol
Growing up in the Portland area, kids often have to wear rain gear and boots. Some wear clear plastic so the costume shows through, and some have extra large costumes so they can wear warm stuff underneath.
We have not had even one kid come to our door on Halloween since moving to the coast in 1999 -- houses on our road are mostly set back from the road and many (like ours) can't even be seen from the road because of trees between the road and the house.
Even in the small towns here, many kids just go to the community Halloween party at the firehouse or community center. Lots of fun for them, no worries about what kind of things are being given out at various houses, and no need to follow them to protect them. The kids have fun, but the old fashioned Halloween was sure fun.
So, when do you put up your Christmas tree? lol
