birthday was low key like I said, but Turtle and I had planned to go out to Todai for dinner. if you go on your b-day you get a $27.00 dinner for free. so every year the 2 of us go on one of our b-days. we waited for mine. doing so might have been a mistake.(her b-day is march 2, maynerd's is 3/11) so March is a rip roaring time around here.(heeeheeehee).Due to a couple factors and also cuz I never mind spreading my b-day out, we decided to do gifts on a later date.
off Turtle and I went. we found a free parking place in front of the fansy mall downtown Todai is in. that is almost unheard of.we trotted without Zoey this time(too crowded for her to be comfy and we keep getting up to go get more food). when we got to the top floor the place was dark.(it has a wall of windows into the mall. there was no closed sign. no hours listed. I have gone on sundays so I know they at least used to be open. very strange. it did NOT look like it was out of business as everything was in place. so we went back to the car grateful for our parking space, and made a plan which started with what kind of food did I want then asking Maynerd to look up telephone numbers and calling to see if there was room for us. I decided I would go from japanese to german(after MUCH fun talking about all kinds of food we could now have.) The first place we did not call ahead.when we got to the Berlin inn.(I like saying that)it had a long wait for a table and little room to wait. so we traveled back towards home and went to Gustav's . normally there is a LONNNNGGG wait and maynerd had called there before the berlin inn and it was a long wait. . but we lucked out. by the time we got there it was no wait at all.we sat down and had a wonderful meal. Why didn't maynerd go? well Todai is kinda loud and since maynerd lost hearing in one ear all sounds are the same volumn, so he can get VERY uncomfortable. Image a Best Buy or a Audeo Only store! acckkk.
when the fabulas dinner was over we chatted with the waitress. by that time everyone else was gone.
I was telling her about todai being closed. sudeenly I got a bad feeling in my heart. I wonder if it has something to do with all the tragedy in Japan! anyway, Turtle and I had a great time. when I was driving her home, we agreed that it was fun to have a scavender hunt of sorts to find a place to eat.
Tonight (and this has nothing to do with my b-day, still haven't celebrated part 2 of it--- presents and cake)I have a sleep study. Maynerd says my snoring is getting loud at times. so as a precautionary measure (and I finally, did I say FINALLY, found a new good doctor)I'll be hooked up to a machine and a camera. Of course I bought new P.J.s for the occasion. If I am going to be on camera I must look my best, ya know. Zoey can go as long as she doesn't get in the bed. well seems that habit is a bit too instilled so again I'll be without her. It is totally understandable their rules, but how can I have a proper study if I am not sleeping like I would be at home??!!(meaning all crowded with 3 dogs and a Maynerd in one bed.
Maynerd can't come either.
(he'd get up into the bed too).
so thats the adventures of a grape for now.
