Response to this is truly an exciting time.....

would cause me not to see my folks.
they were busy poeple with lots of social activities and such. i DID work at a crisir center on some weekends from midnight to 8AM(it was the only paid shift.)
So combining that and figuring out when they would be home, i'd say i'd be at so and so'd for dinner.
the whole purpose of that id cuz they told me weeks ahead that i could not go to new jersey with my bf(I was a senior in high school)and 3 other guys. why in the world they would think that wrong?????(we lived outside Boston at the time).
So i quietly concocded this whole weekend where our pathes didn't cross.
off to N.J. i went.
the ONLY thing that worried me(the whole time) was if i had hid Gard's VW that he let me drive almost anytime i wanted, just maybe not to NJ!)well enough, cuz he worked and had some of those wekend activities at the same college these boys went to.

I never heard a word. i remember thinking that my mother seemed wierd towards me, but that was not that uncommom.
weeks/ MONTHS later i asked gard if i could have the car for the evening and he got out his keys and dangled them and said "as long as you don't go to NJ". that was so long ago!!! he's just mentioning it now???
I tried so hard to look cool. and did not respond, just tried to look lke i didn't know what he was talking about.
he KNEW!!!!!
but no one ever said a word.9until that little exchange, that never went anywhere)
i could have gotten away with murder as i look back.

the other fun one was waking up one morning after a heavy night of drinking and dancing(I was 16)to hear my mother ask me why there was an olive stuck in the bell bottom of my flared pants?.
hmmmm, I KNEW it was not my olive, cuz i still hate olives and i never drank liquuor that had an olive in it.
I drank white russians as a child.
oh sheesh, how did i live so long? how did my mother live so long????is probly the better question.

Bottom line was I was NEVER pass curfew. i could do almost anything wrong that i wanted to before it was time to get home.
...and did so.
