| I had a really nice chat with MIL..do you think we should be concerned?July 22 2012 at 2:18 AM | grape (Login grapejell) Registered Users | |
| I'll start out by saying i really don't think so(just so you all know the answer...J/K!).
I think i asm more concerned about maynerd.
You ALL know how i started sending the "care packages". Her b-day is coming up, and these "mothers" in my life seem to all have VERY specific times they accept calls. I think they might be undercover secret service agents. I know maynerd's mom is always under the
covers.
get to the point grape.
ok.
A bit more of a back story,...if you can.... it is a super cozy slip-on cover-up, mostly to keep shoulders and arns warm.
I had just started worrying,It is NEVER like her to not send a handwritten TY note. If someone doesn't give her one She simply cuts them off of future gifts. So I know how strong she believes in them. i have no judgement of this, i was raised in a similair manner, as i bet some of you also.
What if she had not gotten it?
then my concern became that she did not like the jacket/shawl cape thing. This last xmas she said 'no thank you" cuz she didn't know what it is.Could she be sparing my feelings, nah, that would be a first. tho she IS mellowing closer to "heaven time". She is one rough and tumble church-going midwestern lady. She tells it like it is.
Finally the stars alined and i found 5PM. it seemed to escape me for 2 weeks.
She was SO happy to hear from me! She said she had written me 2 or 3 notes telling me what she wanted for her b-day but when the shawl arrived she thot it would be too much to ask for more. Well bless her heart. the ONLY reason the jacket came when it did was so i didn't have it shopped twice, since i mail ordered it. the goodie box is still in deveopment.
So i say "tell me tell me tell me what you want! if we can do it we'd LOVE to."the bed jacket ended up costing SO little the budget was open pretty good, even if i didn't win one thin dime in LV. (ahem, i digress.... Di!)
ALL those concerns i had turned into a silly bunch of worthless worries. She LOVES her bed jacket.
when i finally pried, pryied, ...dragged out of her what she wanted, I was slightly stunned.
This is the part that breaks my heart, i think.
She wants a baby. a baby doll. it has to be a girl, a white girl with blond hair, (I guess no nikki manague(sp?). It can have any colored eyes. she wants if possible to be dressed up in a fancypink or blue party dress and maybe a bow in her blond hair.
If this doll can bring her joy, and i can provide this for her, then i am honored.
but to me this is so damn sad!!!
is this sad?
or is sad?
when i have to go to Dolls R Us and figure out how to pick one out THAT might be sad.remember i have not will not have and do not nor ever wanted a child.you'd think my days of doll shopping would be far behind me. Now i see this is my furture! No stuffed doggies for this lady. nope she wants a life like doll baby.
turtle says they can run up to $5000.00 and she has seen on TV , like TLC shows where poeple, even men have get-togethers and their dolls have tea or something.
Her doll can't even cost me be $100. It sounded so important to her. she seemed giddy with the idea, and her voice was the strongest i haver heard her in months, painting a picture on the phone of what her new baby looks like. i do NOT want to fall short of her expencations .i have a time limit.(tho she said if it is 'a little late' thats ok. if i had a year or 3 months even I could hunt something down at a garage sale.
if she were my mother, and when i went thru mommie's process of dying, i 1st, was dealing with a pefectly clear-headed woman who was always the brains behind any operation.(my mommie could have wiped out the Tallaban in 10 days or less DAYS!), and her memorial service was preplanned her underwear drawer was organized, tidied and folded to perfection, and she on her last trip outside of her house that she died so peacefully in, she bought me 3 pairs of "smart shoes".
but as i was saying, if this was HER, I'd be talking to her nurses and her doctor. this is not the kind of thing maynerd even knows how to do. his brother is pretty much stuck doing EVERYTHING for their mother and his life is very full and somewhat miswerable.
Besides my newly sudden need for a baby doll, should i do anything? or have maynerd do anything?(
As you can see i have worried all night about this.9well this and BB of course!i DO have priorities)
