i am so glad Di's story got told by all 3 of us. i practucally MADE her tell me before we met up with candi. then it only got funnier the next time i heard it, then NOW on the board it is making me laugh all over again.
After calming down enough to gamble...
Di went off to a machine she likes while Bb1 taught me this Wheel of Fortune machine. before any of you go into a howling fit of laughter, one does not need to spell to Win Big Money' as the vanna voice likes to repeat.
When i lost $10 so fast i got dizzy i went to find di, i no sooner walked up to her and said'do you mind if i watch?" and she won $1000.00!!!!!!!!! she sprong out of her seat so high, i thot it might be part of the game. i mean Wheel of Fortune's seat vibrates when something good happens. maybe her seat is jet propelled.
she was so excited as anyone can imagine. i felt so lucky i got to watch someone win! i never saw anyone win. tho i don't gamble so that makes it harder.
di said "oh no wait until candi gets here, she is gonna say "ohmygod". candi walks up realizes why the commotion and with No hesitation says "ohmygod" like on clue. said with both love and annoyance.
The 1st morning we were all there, we met for breakfast as a fast food court in the hotel.
i was so excited i told the 1st part of at least 20 stories, while waiting for my bacon to be slaughtered and then the bisquit to be homemade(sarcassm font) eatting. It just took a long time, but i got comped water. who knew drinking water was going to be such a premium.
Fountains and falls every where but not a drop to drink.
I think we made plans for all of us to go across the street later to see the coke store and the M&M store. But somehow it ended up being just turtle and me.(fine, i jst hoped no one minded, by they didn't)
I kept hearing about the never ending chocolate fountain, but as much as i enjoyed the M&M store, who knew one could put M&M logos are so many things, there was no never ending chocolate. next was the coke store and i got roped into having my pictire takien with the big white polar bear. if you take your own pics, the bear stands still, but then the employee takes "free: pics and the damn bear comes alive, he wraps his arm around me, he kisses me he bites my head. he was very busy!and frankly he scared the sh!t out of me, which showed in the past picture you view at the place upstairs. cathy is a bad influience, she MADE me buy a set of them... and would not even be in the picture. something is rotten there.
My feet have issues, some pretty bad pain. i hesitate to say that tho cuz Bb1 walks about with sometimes NO boot and a broken foot.
I tell you this cuz next we have to go to walgreens for turtle to buy a fan. her's broke.
They must not encourage folks to sit and people watch on the sidewalks cuz a place to sit was at a premium.
next we deside to go the other way back to cross the strip. oppsies, that turned out to be the longest route possible. by the time we figured out it would take the rest of the day to backtrack, i realized i was 'working on my tan" words you'll never hear me say.
I was so glad to get back to our room, we rested a bit, then went down stairs to meet back up. of COURSE Di treated. I get the feeling bb1 was NOT gonna let that kind of win go unpunished. it was fun food, sliders and wings, oh yea and justin, hunka hunka Justin, like just-in time.
Next was cirque at the Mirage.I loved the curio shop. I found a rug i wanted for maynerd.it had the four faces of the beatles on each 4 corners in a Peter max type art.
Words , at least none i know, can express how impressed joyful, excited, amazed entertained and to add to that I was next to di and we both laughed hooted and cried together. i loved that. It was OUR generation. Tho Di i bow to you, that i was a bit later on the beatles scene than you. how those songs impacted us then and still.
I have seen every Cirq that has come to porltand, but never one that happens in place. this allows for far more special effects( beyond amazing, surprised impactful)and more elebrate stage movments. the cirround sound was probly as good as technology allows. there was much more dancing and less acrobatics and 'tricks" than i am used to.
what i never expected was that the story was so clear and flowing. i mean i just saw OVO in the traveling tent, and i never did get the "message". just a lot of bug costumes doing remarkable things. I cried at a circus? who does that? well di and me.
