There's no issue about effort and respect. The issue is the distances are not comparable and shouldn't be compared. Instead both races should be run by the athlete if you want to truly compare. Why even run the 200 then? Just take the 100 and covert it. You race a race based on the distance, your pacing and strategy are a reflection of the distance to cover and the shape you are in. In my mind, racing a 1500 is very different than racing a 1600 just as racing a 200 is different than a 100.
