If what you say is true, THEN

If what you say is true about the girls being rested for the State Meet buy running shorter distances during the season. Then during track the girls should be running 1200m in SD County meets. When they go outside the county they can run 1600m. This will keep them fresh and rested for the State Meet.

There is a BIG difference in running 3 miles and RACING 3 miles. At the State Meet I have seen alot of girls from San Diego that run and not race the 3.
