Buying a electronic timing system is expensive and having someone to run it is just as pricey. Also some times teachers are the only ones that want to help, and aren't the most accurate. Even some of the coaches don't all the time get accurate readings. I seem a race were the winner of a 100m got 11.0 hand time but the second place winner got 10.8... Dual meets should try to get the beat hand time but ony focus on who gets 1-2-3 or more depending on the amount of schools. But then again, didn't all events run on hand time back in early cif days? Olympics?
