I have to disagree with the "distances are not comparable" issue. The 1500 is 93.75% the length of the 1600. The 100 is 50% the length of the 200. If you look at the records (world, American, etc.) for men and women, you will find that more 1500m/mile records are shared by the same person than any other combination. The next closest is 800/1500. The 100/200 is back a ways. The 1500/mile races are about the same. The only issue might be what is the best conversion factor. For each individual, the conversion factor might be slightly different depending on what that individual's race strategy might be...but it would probably be between 1.075 and 1.08 with 1.078 an happy middle. But, hey, don't you think it's fun to try to compare things?

There are only two true sports: Track and Cross Country.
All the rest are just games.
