Agree on where Coaches get names and marks, but a lot of parents, casual track fans, and sd high school sports fans like myself read the actual sports page on the weekends, and like to see results of all high school sports activity.
If they are going to report results in the paper, they may as well report them accurately. If the two fastest teams of the day in the 4 x 100 relay are not listed, then those are not accurate results. I agree that athletes should be motivated by competition and not paper recognition, but you know what, I enjoy seeing my team's name at the top. It makes me feel good in what I'm doing everyday.
