Over the last 4 days, coaches have been scratching, updating, and letting us know about mistakes.

Later tonight, we will again rerank athletes in each event from top to bottom. Then depending on how many sections/races there are in each event, they will be seeded.

Seeding take different forms in each event. In Field Events, the best marks are ranked in inverse order so the best athletes compete last.

In the 1600, 3200 and distance relays there is a random selection and then the athletes are placed in one of three starting boxes.

Lane races are broken into different heats, and then fastest in each head is seeded in lane 5 and others alternated into other lanes moving from the center out.

If we do it correctly, a great many of the races, if not all will be competitive and fun to watch.

Hope that helps your understanding of the process.

There are only two true sports: Track and Cross Country.
All the rest are just games.
