I started with 3000 psi fill & 54 grain solid
944, 928, 919, 906, 894, 885, 865, 818, 829, 812 --10 shot with 1900 psi left
average of 880 fps and foot pounds of 93 rounded up
2nd fill test
3500 psi fill and 54 grain solid
986, 984, 970, 959, 957, 922, 910, 918, 891, 889, 869, 858, 831, 817, 810, 789, 762 -- 17 shots with 1800 psi left
average of 890 fps and 95 foot pounds.
3rd test
3500 psi fill with the 62 grain long hollow points
919, 912, 908, 901, 894, 864, 851, 859, 830, 807 -- 10 shots
average of 875 fps and 105 foot pounds.
some of the numbers jump and I think its due to the bullets these are the little .257 diameter and I ran them in the lyman .251 die and they come out like a paper patch bullet and have a much tighter fit, but with soft lead they seat fine.
I did run a half dozen of eunjins 42 grain pellets at 2500 psi and they were over 1100 fps. I know at 3500 psi the skirts blow off. and this is why I started to play with casting my own.
