shoot a 308/150+ gr sized bullet well into the 1100+ fps range since we are shooting real bullets and not pellets. Dan McVey told me that he put basically a 308 action on the 45 Ranger and it did not make as much power as one would think and it wasted air terribly. So everything would have to be reconfigured to get a 308 into even 300 FPE. It can be done as Beaumont rifles make about 300 FPE in 308. There's really a lot to it and a lot to explain such as getting the valving and port holes right as well as twist rate for the improved FPS. The 308 barrel is only so big in diameter and the bore is only "308" so you can't make huge port holes in a 308 barrel and expect the gun to perform as invisioned. So up to a point, things could probably get all CHOKED up. Then there more to............
