Both of these are in .177, and I picked them both up at really good prices. At full retail, they would cost me over $1000 for the both of them easily. But I paid no where near that....pays to watch the classifieds and go to gun shows!
Shooting both of them is very dream-like.....put the crosshairs on the target, and watch this tiny little hole appear where you want it.
Cocking action of the TX200 is ratchet-like, with the anti-beartrap mechanism clicking away. That sound is a comfort of sorts. The cocking action of the HW97K is so smooth you almost can't hear it....really!
Both have great triggers.
Both are somewhat heavy compared to their break-barrel cousins.....but that weight is comforting when sighting in on your target.
Workmanship.....British vs. German.....both excellent, with good wood on both of them.
I suppose if I were to split hairs, I would choose the HW97K for an extended hunt since it is somewhat lighter. The TX200 would be fantastic for a short hunt without having to lug it around all day.
Shooting these quality examples of spring-piston technology causes me not to miss all the tanks and accessories needed when I'm shooting my PCP's.
