The 457 haley strikes again. I shot the doe at 20 yards with her right rear to me. I shot her right behind the ribs and it came out the left front shoulder. Right after I shot her the six point came out. He was about 60 yards out and walking broad side I did not think to allow for him moving. He took off when I shot and I watched him run out of sight. The doe I herd go down but not the buck. So I got out of my blind to look. I found the doe 100 yards from where I shot her. No sign of the 6pt. So I went back to the camp to get the 4weeler. I waited for my stepson to come out of the woods. By then 2 hours had passed. We went to go get my doe and look for the buck. We loaded the doe on my 4weeler then started to look for the buck. It took a while but we found him in the creek. good thing it was shallow. I shot him bhind the last rib gut shot, but the 345gr. drilled out to 300gr. got the job done. I was some kind of happy to find that buck.
