After the past two evenings of deer hunting which was unsuccessful in getting a shot at a deer I had the opportunity to get a shot at a bobcat.
Shortly before dusk the bobcat stepped out at about 60 yards and proceeded to a fallen tree looking for birds that were roosting in the thicket at the base of the tree. Apparently he had been there before looking for an easy meal.
The bobcat jumped up on the main trunk of the tree and allowed a perfect picture silhouette. That was his final and worst mistake.
Was shooting a 260 grain R.E.A.L. bullet at about 850fps. I found this bullet to be one of the most accurate in the 457 caliber rifles.
