I have several single chock rifles . And there are times I want to inspect a barrel and do not want to empty the air out of the rifle to be able to inspect it . So I made this holder to restrain the bolt from moving out of a hanger .Marvin

I personally wouldn't put my face in front of an intact barrel.....

Not unless it was removed from the action/ reciever/stock.
Too many bad things can happen there.
I would trust an unloaded firearm more versus a pcp airrifle
To look into the barrel. Even without a projectile, a blast
From high pressure air into your eyeball is recipe for a
Bad day .
Ofcourse it's just my opinion and hopes for everyones safety.

I agree with MigRod.....very unsafe practice

Looking down the barrel of a charged airgun is an unsafe practice not to be recommended. If enough people do this, someone will end-up with their eyeball in the back of their head.

Gun range

October 22 2011, 10:35 AM

Were it will get used the most . Is at the gun range . When the range master calls a cease fire and demands all chambers be open or go home . Before anyone can go down range . And there will be no discussion made about the subject .Marvin

What good is it to have "no one down range" if your looking down a live barrel LOL

October 22 2011, 12:53 PM

Seems if the "range master" was really taking
safety protocol seriously he would not let you
break the most important rule in gun safety.
Never point the gun at anything you don't intend
to shoot. So unless your eyeball is one of your targets,
I would suggest not pointing the barrel point blank at it;)

gun range.....living room.....garage....location makes no difference

October 22 2011, 2:10 PM

Charged airguns are loaded. Never look down the barrel of a loaded gun......it is a STUPID yes STUPID thing to do. There is no way around it.

Sorta like two plus two equals four no matter where the calculation is made. It's called a "universal truth".
