My 82 year old father had emergency surgery last night. He had some sort of a blockage in his small intestine. The doctor said he had a one in 100 chance of surviving the surgery. Thank God he made it - but he's heavily sedated and is on a respirator. In a few days they will attempt to take him off the respirator, and there's the rub - if he can't breathe on his own my family will be faced with some tough decisions - so I am asking anyone who cares to add my father, Hayden Murray Vines, to their prayer list.
in Bay St. Louis Mississippi. I drove down from Nashvlle today to be wth him - he's off the respirator, breathing on his own, but still sedated and receiving oxygen. I didn't think they would have him off the respirator this soon, but it's very encouraging! Thankyou all so much for your thoughts and prayers. He's a tough old bird for sure, and has suprised the surgeon that gave him a 1 in 100 chance of surviving the surgery.
God Bless you all, I really mean it! I will never underestimate the power of prayer again.
Randy - Thanks for providing such a great forum - this is the only place among airgun forums that such a request would be so graciously received. I am truly humbled.

But yeah, we're less than an hour east of New Orleans, so that's not an afternoon drive for sure. When I visited him tonight in the ICU, he opened his eyes, and squeezed my hand, and he knew it was me.
Sometimes bad news come in twos though. I swear I'm not making this up, but last night I had to take my brother, who's been living with & taking care of my parents, to the emergency room for acute stomach pain. It ends up he had a perforated colon. They operated on him this morning. He's on a ventilator, but is doing okay and we're hoping for a full recovery. So I need ya'll to add another family member to the prayer list. My brothers name is Lane. The family appreciates everyones thoughts and prayers.
