Looking for guys with smoothbore airguns to test some special projectiles

Hey guys, as the title says I am looking for one (or possibly more) guy(s) with a big bore airgun(s) that have smoothbore barrels.. I am wanting to test a new hunting prjectile for taking larger game (Note: These darts I am sure will no be legal in all areas for taking all game).. The darts themselves use a steel shaft and a steel head for extreme penetration, the "tail" is made from delrin, and utilizes an o-ring to seal the dart in the barrel with a perfect fit.. The three pieces of the dart are threaded together and can be easily replaced if they are damaged or bent.. I have tested these myself with a .50 caliber smooth bore rifle at 1,000 psi and they are devestating.. I am unable at this time to test them in larger calibers or with higher pressure, so I am looking for some help.. Requirments are that you obviously have to have a smoothbore airgun, you will need to be able to give me an exact bore diameter with a caliper, you will need to have ballistic gelatin or simialr target to shoot at (if they are shot at something "soft" they are more than likely to be reusable for shot after shot, and you will need to have a way to document your range session such as a decent camera or video camera.. If you are interested let me know on here or you can e-mail me at [email protected]. I would like for these darts to become available to the big bore community in the near future so that I can do my part in pushing this sport forward

Here is a picture of a .50 caliber dart (Note: everything is variable in size, from shaft length, to head length and taper etc.)

No response is probably

Due to very few big bore air rifles with the smoothbore as I haven't run into one yet.
Also due to the fact that I don't know of any game that needs to be taken with armor piercing shaft.

Good point Jack, I have seen a few guns with smooth barrels.. I know that Barnes makes one and there are a few guys with modded or home built guns using smooth barrels.. I thought you had made a few too but I am mistaken.. As far as the "armor piercing" goes.. dream big right? Imagine the wound channel and penetration you would get on a whitetail with an .87 caliber Barnes airgun and a dart that big

I have two smoothbores, .45 and .69

I did not jump at the offer simply because I am too busy to do much testing on my own at the moment, but would like to test them for you.

I will have to mike the bores, but I believe they are .457 and .685. They generate over 700fpe and 550fpe respectfully.

I guess that email is the best way to communicate, and as long as I can finish the current two gun projects first, I would be happy to help test.

Cheers. David.

Big Bores.
More than just a way of life.
It's not a sickness, I can quit anytime I want.
I just don't want to.
Besides, they aren't big enough yet.
