I know what you mean; I've been lucid a few times myself. Although I remember that upon recognition of my lucidity I would seek the object of my desire and then lose lucidity once the object was divined. And, yes, this object has often been what you think it might be, given that I am a male lucid dreamer.... but not always. For instance, once while lucid I sought a glass of water that for one reason or another could not be consumed. It seems that the objects of these dreams do not fall within my powers so readily, even though I can actively choose to pursue them. I am active with some control, but not omnipotent; the dreamworld still seems to be operating according to some strange law of its own.
Perhaps, I need more training; or, perhaps, the secret of the perpetual lucid dream is to free oneself of desire, to purposely surrender control. I don't know. What do you think?
