Interesting interpretation

I hadn't really considered this interpretation, but it does explain quite a bit. I guess I do spend a lot of time in my life "fending off" certain dangers, whether real or perceived, from myself or Lei.

And yeah, one of the dangers I keep trying to fend off is her insistance on leaving the house as soon as she is legally able to.
