He was under a tarp next to my car that my brother was working on in the lower driveway. He was so cute, and I wanted to keep him, but after I took him inside and sat him in a box with a sliced grape, he just wasn't very happy. He kept crawling into the corner of the box and sulking. :P So I took Steve back outside, and after a tearful goodbye, let him go into the compost garden, where, hopefully, he will continue to live out his days, eating bugs and...whatever turtles eat.
I miss him. He was so cute. The smallest tarapin I've ever held before.
You should. Steve the Turtle is very highly valued in the Arkansass animal kingdom.

Actually, thank you, Steve the Coloradoguy! I just had this genius idea. What if I sold Steve the Turtle on Ebay...the proceeds could go to this website!! :D lol
NICE. Wait a sec, and I'll ask Steve the Turtle what he thinks....
He said "why don't we just sell Turtle CHEESECAKE, instead!"
Thank you, Steve the Turtle. What a wonderful idea.
How do you make Turtle cheesecake, anyway? :P mmm...maybe we won't go into that with Steve the Turtle so close by. heh heh.
Daniel and I rescued a turtle from the middle of the highway yesterday, a map turtle, and I called him Sparky. We took him in the car with us, and he had great fun looking out the window. We let him go on the property behind the church where there are woods and a stream. I hope Steve and Sparky are both happier turtles now.

Here's a pic of a "Map turtle":

Last week I had just gotten off work and drove 1 block and at the entrance to our property was a big huge snapping turtle that was just finishing crossing the road. A semi in front of me stopped to avoid crushing the thing.
I pulled up next to it and it quickly turned around to face me. I said, "Hi, how's it going?" then continued on home. I have seen them crawling right in front of our office before along with big red painted turtles the same week.
Here's a very hi-resolution pic of a snapping turtle:
Yes, steve, please fix it soon...this pic is SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Um thanks, Jeremiah. Maybe I've seen a map turtle before, I'm not sure. I tend to like turtles, and reptile-like things really small. heh heh. :P really small. and harmless would be a nice choice, too.
***So long...and thanks for all the fish***

Yes, the large size of the picture is a pain, but I dunno, I kind of like it.
I ain't "fixing" anything! :p)
Love, Steve

He was under the tarp in the lower drive where I initially rescued him. Ususally there are snakes who sleep under there, but today, it was Steve. He must be very happy with the current stock of bug life under there.
