And here are the results of the German knowledge of Arkansas. Eight people have answered my question.
mentioned 3 times:
+ The capital is Little Rock.
+ It's being pronounced "ArkanSAW"!
mentioned 2 times:
+ Bill Clinton comes from Arkansas.
mentioned 1 time:
+ John McCain stems from there as well, and if not him then one of the other ones who ran for the Republicans
+ Evanescence comes from there. [the music group]
+ Arkansas belongs to the USA
+ Arkansas is a Southern state / lies in the South.
+ Arkansas is quite a tiny state of the South [Arkansas is 38.6 % the size of Germany, btw.]
+ Arkansas borders Texas among others, but not Kansas.
+ Arkansas borders Missouri.
+ Arkansas fought on the side of the South during the Civil War.
+ Arkansas was a French province once, at least I heard so, that's where it got its name from
+ We [Germans] pronounced it "Ar Kan Sas" in the old days.
+ Arkansas was mentioned in every Western novel in the old days.
+ There are Indian reservations in Arkansas.
+ I believe they have no death penalty in Arkansas.
+ There's much forest there.
+ The Ozark forests are there [Ozarks Mountain country]
+ The Amtrack [!] is going through Arkansas.
+ The best English is being spoken there. [I wonder if that is true.]
Well, if you had asked me, I could have come up with most of the answers above.
But it's a shame that the world knows so little about ARKANSAS!
What about its heroes, its songs, its legends?!
