For my blog readers...

This post was supposed to go on my blog, but livejournal is being really finicky and for some reason won't post it (no error message, just incessant hanging). I've been trying to post it for over an hour and now I'm just giving up! Just one more reason to switch to some other blogging tool...

First thing's first - what's that lovely smell? Why, it's only the first non claything I've made in my oven in weeks (months?). Frozen pizzas and frozen chicken strips notwithstanding.

It's a berry crisp, taken from the pages of NJ Family Magazine, which is a freebie that son #1 comes home with in his folder every couple of months. I usually just throw it out, but somehow the article on berry picking caught my eye before the magazine made it's way to the trash. It's not quite berry-picking season where I am, so I settled for the frozen variety. Still, it smells yummy and I can't wait to dig in after supper. The three or four crumbs I've sampled off of the top have been delicious

Ok, now that you're all drooling along with me, it's time to wipe off the keyboard and see who won yesterday's contest! Drumroll, please, as my lovely assistant picks a number at random for me... And the winner is ROBIN! Robin, congratulations, and please email me with your snail mail address! If I hear from you tonight, I can get that DVD in the mail to you with my next batch of orders.

The reason I asked about dirty hands is that I am a chronic wipe-em-on-my-pants girl, no matter how gooey with liquid clay they are. And I'm not always wearing junky pants, either. I'm thinking of using that first apron I made as a "claypron" (clever term, eh? I'm thinking they might be fun to sell, if I get good at making them!)

And now, I will leave you with a picture of the surprise peony that I found outside this week. We had a peony bush several years ago that got accidentally hacked up in a lawn-mowing/weed-whacking debacle. Last bloom we had was at least 3 years ago, so I figured it was done for. Not so! We got two big, beautiful blooms, one of which is still on the plant, and the other of which has been gracing my kitchen window sill for about 4 days now. It's so fragrant - I love it!

Happy Thursday!
Lisa
