exhibitions are promotion

any 'exhibition' is a promotional tool, that's all

to get people interested to buy tickets, buy some t-shirts,
brochures, products at the tents outside the arena w/tv's
or computers or cars, what have you - hence the word
'exhibition' - it all ties in together

they have pre-event parties w/the big spenders,
auctions, dinners, there is a tie in to some
charity, business, or specific event - raise money &
awareness


hingis is involved with the united nations children's
programs, and she tries to promote that when she can w/tennis,
same for graf & her private foundation to help the world's
children in impoverished areas

you don't think graf or hingis do these types of things
w/o making sure their charitable groups get something out of
it - a donation, promotion, goods, something -

a pay day for gaby? if that's what she wanted, she could do
things closer to home for cash alone

it's 2005 and gaby is 34 or 35 - whatever - and you're not
going to get a 7-6, 6-7,7-6 match out of sabatini v. graf/hingis/
aranxta - it isn't going to happen

if she should happen to pick up a racket in 10 years to play graf,
for a charity event, people would pay to see it

mind you, that's assuming neither one is going to gain 30 pounds and
take up smoking and let their hair go grey - ha ha
