Just wanted to tell the staff and volunteers thank you for an outstanding baseball tournament this weekend. I have been involved with travel baseball tournaments for two years now and this was amongst the best I have been involved with. The kids at West Macon are very fortunate to have such an outstanding group of board members and volunteers working for your park. Many of these voulunteers worked several nights for the past couple of weeks to get the fields ready. Some even took vacation times from their jobs to get the final preparations done friday. Most tournaments have little or no local facility support. Many times the fields are poorly prepared and bathrooms not adequately stocked or cleaned. The people of West Macon went above and beyond having the fields prepared and chalked before every game. The bathrooms were very clean and staff were continuosly picking up debris at the park. These volunteers started their day on saturday and sunday at 7:00 AM and finshed around 8PM each night. Blazers baseball is extremely proud to call West Macon our home park and the players and parents of West Macon should be also. Remember evey time your child takes the field at West Macon it is because a group of people gave of their time and energy for you and your child. I know these men and women do not do this for any glory but for their love of the game of baseball and the kids that play it. I encourage each parent to come to opening day next saturday and find somebody wearing a yellow West Macon Staff shirt and let them know how much you appreciate them. While your talking to them ask them what you can do to help because together we can make a positive impact on our youth. Thanks again West Macon for your commitment to excellence.
