Our eldest, a Yellow Labrador Retriever, AKC registered as Sunflower Buttercup Daisy, also turned 13 last month. (We also have three cats)
When I hear of a cherished dog passing, it reminds me of two songs:
Elvis Presley's "Old Shep" and Neil Diamond's "Shilo".
My sympathies to you and your family.
When Daisy passes, we're going to take the advice of many professionals in the dog world, and REPLACE HER IMMEDIATELY.
HAROLD (BTW...our middle dog NOVA killed another cottontail this morning that burrowed under the fence into our yard..he usually wastes a squirrel, a rabbit, or a sparrow at least once a week.)
