We have a ssssssmall cabin in Western NY. It has a well with a hand pump. It is off grid. We are designing a basic 12 volt running water system. The cabin does not get used in the winter months so in designing the system, ease of winterizing is paramount.
Years back I found a product that helped sssssolve the problem. It consisted of a "spongy" type line that was run through the pipes. The concept was not to prevent freezing but allowed the expansion of frozen water to "compact" the "spongy" line that ran through it thus preventing damage to the pipe.
For the life of me I cannot find any info on it and wondered if anyone has heard of ssssssssssuch a product or has any experience/opinions.
