You can use cast bullets w/gas check but most folks use jacketed. There's specific loading data for the rifle in one of my books. They recommend a 240gn jacketed bullet.
The gas system is similar to an M1 Carbine, with a short throw piston and operating rod (4 round tube mag goes through center of op rod). Bolt rotates and locks into receiver.
Needs fairly hot loads to cycle reliably.
It's drilled for scope bases; two holes in the receiver and two at the rear of the bbl. This one came with a scope & weaver bases but I removed them.
