Mother Nature had her idea of fire works. I was in the shop when it started. I have 2 4 1/2 foot doors. As I was opening the other door to let some of the cool breeze in, I heard a loud "SNAP" from the back of the shop. In the same instant I saw a orange glowing ball, about the size of a basket ball, that was spinning about eye level in the neighbors yard and KA-BOOM. This repeated a couple more times in the next few minutes somewhere behind the shop. A loud snap, instantly followed by a flash and KA-BOOM. I didnt find any tree damage back there. The snap was coming from a big fan (42" blade), all I can figger is static electricity generated by the blades and the charged atmosphere somehow interacted.

Lightning is far more dangerous.

people called them "lightening" holes. We'd tell them it was for the "lightning" to travel through when it got hit.
