It was a great tragedy.

Ron D La Roche and I were good friends during middle school. We were in the band together both playing clarinet. He was also my "dinner date" for one night at our 8th grade Washington D.C. trip, he was really a funny and nice guy. I knew Mrs. De La Roche from cheerleading for the M.A.L. Both her and Mr. De La Roche seemed like really nice people. Eric, the youngest brother, and my younger sister were in the same grade and friends also. I can still remember that morning when a friend called me and told me she heard something had happened. My father then called Jack Hanna, a friend who was a policeman in town, and found out it was true what happened to the family.

I have read the book and found it weird that I knew just about everybody mentioned in it. I have mixed feelings about the movie being made, but I am interested in contributing some information about Ron.

Bonnie i remender when i heared about this. i never know the De La Roche's, but i use to ride my dirt bike by your house behind St Joes and that day your sister Frankie came out and told me and Carl R about it. For some reson i will never forget that. Frankie was very upset about( i guess i would be to ). I was from Woodcliff Lake ( the other side of St Joes ). I would have gone to Hills with Eric. I would have been in the same grade as he was.
