I was working in a Mobil Gas station on Pascack Road that night.Harry stopped in and bought some gas. We talked for a few minutes and he left.Heard what happened the next day from other friends and the Bergen Record. No mention in the book of him stopping and the police never questioned me,but he never said anything that would have led me to believe what was going to happen.

"some gas" or a tank full?

Do you remember if he filled his tank? Or did he just buy enough for a few days around town? Can you remember? And do you recall if he used a credit card or paid cash? No one will acuse you of enabling his attempted get-away. I am sure glad that he did not get away, if he stopped at those stop signs, he would have.

That's funny... He also stopped at the Texaco Station (at the time) at the "Holiday House" on the GSP in Montvale at around 11:10 p.m. to get gas. I was working there that night. He was extremely drunk at the time and raced out of there. (from what I recall he only put in a few bucks worth of gas)

This is also not in the book...I figure I was one of the last Montvalians to have actually seen Harry before he committed the murders a few hours later!
