I Respect You Qwerty

I am an infrequent reader out here but I find it incredible how you are treated out here.

As far as I have read, you have never got involved in mudslinging and personal attacks but yet have been the brunt of them almost daily.

You seem to be preaching purity and holiness and your message is iritating those who want to continue being sinful christians. I have not seen anyone so reviled and hated out here since most of the Holdemans left. I think you are just too real. You threaten the cushy comfort zone of living by the flesh that some accept in their lives.

I respect your views Qwerty, and want to encourage you to continue speaking truth, even if other people feel reproved and then come back to hurt you.

Who hates him?? I don't mind the guy, I just wish he would slow down, let other people respond, and tone down the know-it-all saviour complex.

And I wish he would recognize the addiction he has.

But I sure don't hate him. He actually has a few good points now and then.

Doyle, If you’re going to be one of Qwerty’s disciples, you’ll have to get in line behind Allen.

OK, I'm curious enough to bite. Who's Allen?

I just don't understand why someone who is always kind, who doesn't make personal attacks, etc, gets so much heat out here. Sure he may not say who he is, I don't either and neither do most others out here from what I can tell.
Look, I don't always agree with Qwerty either, but he has the guts and the gentlemanliness to say his piece and not fight. I respect that kind of tolerance and class.

I’m going to recycle one of my own poems and add your name, Doyle.
Don't be offended that you weren't included in the original.

Squirty, Doyle and Allen?
Yah they’re three of a kind
Put them all together and what do you find?
Well, they know a lot of scripture and what the Bible says
But when it comes to helping people, they get into quite a mess
See, they never figured out the way a person really thinks
So when all they do is reprove someone, they come across as dinks
The three of them were made for each other
And when they finally do embrace
I hope they keep their self righteous comments to themselves
And do a favor for the human race

Doyle said in the opening post, ".....since most of the Holdemans left."

I was away from the forum for some time, and when I returned I noticed that some Holdeman posters were absent. Only for reasons of curiosity, was there a specific reason they left?

Given the official stance of the COGICM on the internet, I was always a bit surprised to see Holdeman posters here, but I was also happy to have their presence, even if I don't see eye to eye with them.

My absence coincided with traditional revival season (Jan - Mar), so did this have anything to do with it, or did the Holdeman presence on this site become a general concern that was addressed on a general level within the conference or even at specific congregational levels?

I'm pretty neutral about Qwerty but I think he's been having some interesting discussions with certain people. I'm always puzzled when people object to a lot of input from someone on a forum. If I'm not interested I simply don't read it, and I respond to what I am interested in. Its not like being physically present in a group and listening to someone who won't shut up.

As for whether or not Qwerty works or not, maybe he's retired, or seasonal, or works from a home office.

As for Qwerty's past, I'd swear he's been a h at one time. His comments are just too knowledgable of h ways, and too h like to have never had close contact. I was really surprised when he said he had never been H.

Ill bred, low brows are the ones who come against Qwerty and start suggesting that he is on welfare, doesn't have a job or life etc. What cheap shots! What a shame.

Hang in there Qwerty, do your stuff, say whatever you want. Take the flak with honor.

Doyle, you obviously have not read many of Qwerty's posts. Sure, he may not be involved in personal attacks, but he has completely insulted and belittled practically every Christian church and denomination on the face of the earth, except his own, which he will not name. As far as I'm concerned, that is a very dirty way of "witnessing".

Re: I Respect You Qwerty

Don't know why anyone would bash Qwerty. He never uses bad language or gets obscene. He doesn't attack people. He starts lots of discussions that anyone is welcome to add their input to. This forum is set up with a very strong idea that anonymity is anyone's perogative. He doesn't have to tell us one thing about himself. He uses lots of scripture. Now for the downside, Qwerty. Qwerty is very dogmatic and legalistic. So what? Why do we have to tell people how to think or behave? As long as it isn't in bad taste, get it on.

Why does anyone resent anyone else utilizing the forum to it's greatest potential? No one owns it, we are all just having good time.

Besides, I think the Holdemans are in the revival season and someone lowered the boom on them. They as well as anyone else are free to come and go as they please, say what they want, express any opinion.

We had our revivals a month or two ago. (just FYI)

I have heard that there have been some concerns addressed with participation on forums in general. This may have a bearing on CGCM member participation, I don't know. At any rate, I have been considering any value of any participation here for myself or anyone else here. Given that, and the fact that I'm extremely busy right now, I have not been reading or posting as much recently. That may gradually fade in to no participation for me. I have questioned the spiritual value of it since I started, and nothing has changed in that regard.

Hi April,,

NO I'm not Qwerty,,it was just a joke.

I don't care for the style of his writings. I'm not a heavy reader as far as the forum goes. I like shorter and to the point posts.

I'm on another forum too. It's probably a better fit for me there. They have never heard of the Holdeman Mennonites, so none of these issues with avoidance and dress and OTVC come up. Anyway NO I'm not Qwerty. I have no clue who he is or she..

Jerry can defend himself. but I would add that Jerry works and his work schedule doesn't match up with Qwertz post times.

I can't speak for very many, but I believe some of the reliable H posters have moved on, not because of pressure by anyone or anybody, but preference to spend time in a less conflicting environment. I also believe there are probably posters that are here at present that are closet H. They will never start a debate or even participate in one.

Forreal: This one, why you got off the internet, regarding revivals. You wrote: "My absence coincided with traditional revival season (Jan - Mar), so did this have anything to do with it, or did the Holdeman presence on this site become a general concern that was addressed on a general level within the conference or even at specific congregational levels?" Except with meetings every night, you wouldn't have time to post. At least I wouldn't take the time for it, that part I can understand. smile
