explain why bad things happen

How many read the book or seen the movie, "Love Comes Softly"? The explanation why bad things happen to decent people was this, Just because a child walks beside their father, doesn't always prevent the child from falling. The father is there to pick up, help, cry, laugh and help heal the child when he falls. Not the exact words, but the meaning is the same. I thought that was a good way to put it. calledoutPTL

Calledout,

There's plenty people in this world that live very contrary to Christianity that have lives full of grace. So decent people are not that decent, because the human heart is the human heart.....it is full of device.

The tower that full on the 18 in Jesus' parable were not greater sinner. It was their time. Bad things happen to us because it is time. If we survive the bad things, they were meant to bring us around. If we squander them, then we're not learnable!

Actually Brent, there is natural law that says,, you reap what you sow. You sow wheat, you reap wheat not corn, you sow kindness, and you will reap kindness. You sow bitterness, and you reap bitterness. This sowing happens to good and decent people who don't even claim to be christians. But I agree that timing is in there as well. calledoutPTL

Calledout,

I thought about putting the you "reap what you sow" into it, but that obvious.

So called decent people appear to not sow bad things, and they sometimes reap more bad things than those that sow bad things. The bottom line is we are not going to figure things out that way, and the Bible also makes that very clear. There's to many variables in the heart and life to get life predictable.

Neither good nor bad things that happen are the measure of a man. It's how he responds to either situation that truly shows his worth.
