In church today...
One of the missionaries in our church was talking about how God is preparing her to go on another missions trip. During her talk she was mentioning about how muslims in other countries are having dreams about Jesus. One in particular had a dream about Jesus handing him a Bible and saying read this. He went and got a Bible and began to read it and he got saved. He started going around to other muslims asking them if they had a dream about Jesus and sharing what has happened to him. So far he has found 3,000 other muslims who have had a dream about Jesus and then he has been able to share what he has discovered in the Bible. The missionary mentioned that muslims do know about Jesus but they believe that he was like a prophet.

While I think that is very cool lark,,it is important that people believe that Jesus was God's son and not just a prophet. Hopefully those people will have someone to explain that.

Paris.. umm.. I must not have explained well.. The point was that the muslim man came to know Jesus as the Son of God, repented of his sin and became a Christian. I always thought that the muslims did not even know anything about Jesus. What the missionary was saying is that they know a little about Jesus BUT it is not all accurate.

I think I got it, I was commenting on the part about them thinking that Jesus was just a prophet,,it is fundamental and essential to understand and believe that Jesus was God's son not just a prophet.

I see lark,, you are saying that is what the missionaries are doing..

Gosh sorry, it's just that I go to an Evangelical church too and one of the things the missionaries have to fight the hardest against is people corrupting the deity of Christ. The missionaries say that a lot of times they will present the truth of the Bible and if those foundational things don't take a good root then they have to go back and reteach things like Jesus was not just a prophet but was Gods son.

So I was a little over sensitive about what you said. Am I making any sense yet..

What kind of church do you go to or is that to personal?

Paris.. our church is considered charismatic and progressive church. (At least according to hubby.)
