hey, I was talking to my oldest the other day about the different opportunities of doing an interesting project.
We came across a thought of converting used motor oil into diesel.
It appears to be a relatively simple thing to do.
If you heat the oil to 700 degrees it vaporises the stuff that will condense into diesel, the remaining liquid will be asphalts for road tarand for making the heat required to run the distiller.
Does any one out there know anything about this? Any one interested in the engineering involved?
Frederick: Why don't you try mixing the used oil with the diesel fuel and burning it. If you filter adequately, seems to work relatively well at a ratio of 2 gal. of used oil to 100 gal. DF.
