Last week our dil's grandfather in Brasil was coming home from work and he thought his barbwire fence gate was open and drove thru it on his motorcycle. He got up and got to the house and motioned to his wife to call a neighbor and the neighbor called an Ambulance and decided that he could not wait for them and got in the car with his wife to head to town. they met the ambulance on the way. He was not expected to survive having his throat cut and trachea severed. After 3 days in ICU he is still in the hospital and after being told he would never talk if he did survive, he is now whispering. The DR said he had never seen anyone survive his injuries like that and finally had asked if this man was a Christian because that was the only way for him to have survived, was God. He is a brazilian Holdeman in his 50's.

Yes there is a GOD of miracles, not chance.

LL, is that really true?

As far as I know, I got it from his granddaughter, they said he would not live at all in the beginning and then when he lived the DR wanted to know if he is a Christian, because he felt it has something to do with the man still being alive.

LL, I don't care what the doctor said. I'm asking you. Is that comment sound doctrine, or is it a sentimental/emotional appeal just sort of slipped in there.

Scott, less than 2 yrs ago, I spent 2 1/2 weeks in one of the top trauma units in the world. I saw many miracles there, but I have to say that the percentage of the greatest miracles did not happen without God's intervention and that was evident in their families as you watched them on a daily basis. One day I had a conversation with one of the Drs there, He told me plainly,"People think they come here and we fix them, we can only stabilise them with the skills we have been given. All the healing comes from what the body is created to do. We are not in control of who lives or dies."

From what I understand this Brazilian's injuries are quite extensive. But apparently GOD has other plans for him and what he wants him to do with his life. Believe me this man will never be the same again.
I would encourage you to watch the youtube LM posted last eve, no arms, no legs, no worries.
We cannot come up with this stuff with just our own finite minds.

I cannot explain to you why I have had to go thru so many severe trials, nor why you have had to either. I only know that without the fiery trials we become stagnant self righteous, pompous cruel people. If we become that way after the trial, it is because we have chosen to, not because God does not have a better way and a place for us in life to truely live.
We have a great friend that has been 80% paralyzed since he was 37 yrs old. he is in his early 60's. He is one of the happiest people you will ever see, does he ever get discouraged, Totally, Does his wife, Yes. Does that stop him? NO. He is one of the most inspiring friends we have.
Life is 20% circumstances and 80% what we make it to be.
Some of us tend to live on the negative side or we have become that way from being stomped down so long, but I truly believe that God has a better way and will bring us out of the valley.
