: Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2: Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
3: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4: I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5: That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6: Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7: So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9: God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10: Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11: For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12: Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13: Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14: I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15: Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
16: And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17: For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19: For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20: Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21: For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22: For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24: But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25: Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26: For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28: And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29: That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30: But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 1
1: It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2: I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
3: And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
4: How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
5: Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.
6: For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
7: And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8: For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10: Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
11: I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing.
12: Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
13: For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong.
14: Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.
15: And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.
16: But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.
17: Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you?
18: I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps?
19: Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.
20: For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:
21: And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed
2 Corinthians 12
1: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2: I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3: Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4: He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5: Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6: Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7: A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8: Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9: Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10: There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11: For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12: They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13: Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14: Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15: He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16: With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Psalms 91
"1": And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
"2": Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
"3": Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
"4": But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
"5": Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
"6": And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
"7": That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
"8": For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
"9": Not of works, lest any man should boast.
"10": For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
"11": Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
"12": That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
"13": But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
"14": For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
"15": Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
"16": And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
"17": And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
"18": For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
"19": Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
"20": And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
"21": In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
"22": In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
"1": And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
"2": And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
"3": And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.
"4": And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.
"5": And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?
"6": And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.
"7": And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.
"8": And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.
"9": And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:
"10": Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
"11": And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.
"12": And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
"13": And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
"14": And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
"15": And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
"16": And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.
"17": And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
"18": And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
"19": And when even was come, he went out of the city.
"20": And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
"21": And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
"22": And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
"23": For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
"24": Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
"25": And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
"26": But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
"27": And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,
"28": And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?
"29": And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
"30": The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.
"31": And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?
"32": But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.
"33": And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things
1: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3: For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4: For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
6: Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7: Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8: Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
9: Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
10: Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
11: Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12: Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13: Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14: Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15: Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16: Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17: Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18: If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19: Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20: Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21: Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12
"1": At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
"2": And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
"3": And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
"4": Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
"5": And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
"6": But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
"7": Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
"8": Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
"9": And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
"10": Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
"11": For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
"12": How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
"13": And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
"14": Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
"15": Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
"16": But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
"17": And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
"18": Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
"19": Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
"20": For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
"21": Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
"22": Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
"23": Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
"24": And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
"25": But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
"26": The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
"27": Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
"28": But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
"29": And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
"30": And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
"31": So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
"32": Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
"33": Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
"34": And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
"35": So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
Matthew 18
"1": Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
"2": By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
"3": And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
"4": And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
"5": And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
"6": For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
"7": For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
"8": But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
"9": Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
"10": For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
"11": And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
"12": Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
"13": (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
"14": Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
"15": But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
"16": And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
"17": For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
"18": Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
"19": For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
"20": Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
"21": That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
1: Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.
2: Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.
3: What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
4: In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
5: Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.
6: They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
7: Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.
8: Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
9: When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.
10: In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.
11: In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
12: Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
13: For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
Psalms 56
Thanks LL, for your faithfulness in posting scripture. Can it be said any simpler then in Romans 5 ? and then to testify of God's goodness and declare our trust in God as Psalm 56 ? Can I add my favorite verse...
Eph 1:7; "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace."

1: Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
2: In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
3: But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
4: To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
5: For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
6: If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
7: For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
8: But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
9: Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
10: For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
11: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
12: One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are always liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
13: This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
14: Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
15: Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
16: They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
