Many of us are parents, so we all can appreciate the originality children have! Lol! This is a woods toilet; it's part of an extensive house our children have in the woods by our yard...it includes a town, slide, "standing place" and let's not forget the toilet! Our ten yr old boy dug a hole and put a board over it with a hole in it and our five yr. old daughter took out toilet paper with a bucket to cover it.

They sound like my two oldest sons. Don't ever underestimate how much you will yearn for these days, many years hence. When I see a woman in a store, or in church with cute little boys at her side, I melt with the memory of my younguns, and think I would do almost anything to have them back to that size, for just one day. Their curiosity, their inventiveness, their innocent joy in living is as lost as yesterday's sunset. Take lots of pictures of them, and write down every cute thing they do!

Motherlode, your comments about your children were very touching. I was very much like Cupcakes children while growing up. Making pretend playworlds out in the woods was the most fascinating thing to do!

For the last 3 or 4 months, I have been playing parent again to my step daughters children. She moved in with us after a divorce, and I now have 3 children, ages 2, 3, and 5, who are delighted to see me arrive home from work and play with them. I have been asked an endless barrage of “why” questions about the most obvious things. My evenings are sometimes filled with changing diapers, giving baths, and singing them to sleep. It sure cuts into my independent freedom, but it sure is sweet also. I’ll try to figure out how to post a picture of them soon.
