Intersting point, Mark. Some time ago I read the book "The Body and the Blood" which chronicles the status of our Christian brothers and sisters in Palestine, Israel and Lebanon. It was a disturbing story and one that more people, particularly the Zionist supporters among the "Christian" right in the US, should read.
