Sirus; I think your post is very good in that it shows you are thinking of the possibility that God exists. Good for you.
I cannot however, agree with all of your statements, and one in particular.. There are many fine H woman who I am sure make wonderful, caring and family & God honoring wives. I thank God that He allowed me to marry one of them.

Hank, maybe you got lucky. From the way it sounds you and your wife were on the same page when it came to leaving, that's good.
I don't think it would be worth the risk, though, to marry one of them, have children with them and then decide to leave the H church. If both don't leave at the same time things sound like they can get into quite a muddle. It sounds like heartache to me.

Sirus, my son married an h woman, and I simply cannot imagine a more complete and perfect "helpmeet" and soul mate for him.
So for that I thank the Lord for the holdies.
And just in case you are wondering there is a God, and he intervenes in the affairs of men to help them be complete, if they allow him to.
the H has a ministry to the spiritual babies that refuse to get hold of God, but want to live in spiritual infancy the remainder of their adult life, so thank the Lord for them!

(Thank you, God, for not allowing me to stay in the H church.)
-ditto
(Thank you for making sure that I left at a young age.)
-Wish it had been sooner but what can I say when you are calling all the shots.
(And most of all, thank you for not allowing me to marry a Holdeman woman. Thank you, thank you.......a thousand times, thank you.)
-Thank you for allowing me to marry the most wonderful woman in the world and that we were in complete agreement about leaving the holdeman cult.

Following are some sad attributes of a stanch and faithful Holdeman wife.
Firstly, she largely will not think for herself because she is taught to follow the voice of her church as the voice of God Himself, and thus she will not even consider any of her husband thoughts if they are in disagreement with her special church.
Secondly, she will refuse to eat at the same table with her husband for the rest of his life, if he does not somehow learn to agree and reunite with her church, which firmly claims Jesus inherited no physical aspect at all from Mary , and largely because Menno Simons strongly advocated the "Word" became Christ's flesh (rather than His flesh connecting to Mary), and although Rueben Koehn one of their most predominate leaders oppositely wrote the Word did not become Christ's flesh, and although Menno Simons also foolishly taught no mother contributes any physical aspect to her children as he went about advocating Jesus inherited nothing from Mary.
Thirdly, she will listen to the ministers of her church largely as if they were angles sent from God, but will not consider any of her husband's doubts about her church, regardless how much he might research and what he might discover. Note, sometimes I feel such ministers really have the responsibility to provide and care for a wife who they unjustly take away from her husband as this.
Forthly, she also will expect her husband to agree with her church that the proper manner of baptizing is using less water than drinking water, although the Greek word baptize is largely one with the word wash, and most all early Christian baptisms were done where their was much water.
Fifthly, her hair rather than being a glory and a covering to her as the Bible speaks of it being will be a perpetual hidden nuisance to her, while further she will wear her obscuring veil as a supposed sign of submission to her husband while yet against his wishes. Further although she might have made herself quite attractive in her youth and before getting married afterwards as she becomes a more mature and stanch Holdeman she might drop those supposedly carnal efforts and further more freely gain weight.
Sixthly, she also will teach her children to not believe in their father, because he disagrees with her special church, and if her family and friends are part of her church, which is often the case, she will have the support of all her family and friends in doing this.
Seventhly, her family and friends will lament with this wife how tough she has it to be married to such a man, and most often will support her in what ever she stands for, without giving any ear to her husband. They might bring her gifts and cards to symphasize with her for being married to such a man.
Yes it is a very difficult situation and may God have mercy on those caught in this evil place.
