I need the guidance of the lost

"I need the guidance of the lost".

This song lyric caught my attention, but I almost missed it, then took a double take. It's from an alternative rock band.

You know, the lost know more about things of God than the modern day saved. They also believe and do more. They don't pervert grace. They don't devise, they don't trick themselves; and that's why they know they're lost. The lost have vision into their circumstance, the saved don't, that's why they're saved. The lost know they have to be saved and the saved don't know they're lost.

Had a little time to read and write, Paris.

Paris writes, "and my saved life."

For the time being, lets just say everyone is saved or everyone is lost.

Some thought pattern seems to be distorted here.
We do not need the guidance of the lost because if the lost lead the lost they will wander in circles and still be lost or if the blind lead the blind both will fall in the ditch.

Knight,

It's good to see your name on the forum like Peter said.

I remembered always seeing a little more in your posts.

But I don't think the lost lead the lost. The way I meant it, the saved lead the lost into the ditch. This is why the way I was seeing it the lost begin to lead themselves which has the seed of good guidance in it. They know what they're talking about by then. So the guidance of this kind of lost person is good.

LOST &SAVED ?

Am to I understand that you believe that the lost have in some way been given the understanding of their being lost and the saved are leading them astray?

In my observation the absence of peace and fulfillment of the lost is due to seeking temporary pleasure which must always be escalated in intensity for satisfaction.

The teaching of Jesus the anointed one is that the God followers
(the saved)are a light to the world and a salt to the earth. The apostelic teaching is that we who God has chosen are priests of God's kingdom and as such would seek and lead the seeking lost to Jesus the Christ and his redemtion.

Knight,

I'm being sarcastic when I talk about the saved. I think they're way more lost than the lost that have had great experience in the world. Therefore I would want their guidance.

The picture gets so big that religious talk like being saved don't even play a part anymore.

I had the same thoughts as Knight... but I thought of this when Brent now posted. The contemplation of being lost by one who believes he is saved, should be serious enough to take a lesson from the lost. You don't want to be in their condition.
