I was thinking about the harrowing sufferings of humanity today and the terrible toll it takes - the pining of disease, the maiming of accident, starvation, disgraced individuals or families, prisoned souls, insistent labor, job loss, love loss, exile, war, famine, revenge, blackmail, all the things of human experience, all of which a knowledgeable soul has been touched by.
But on the lighter side of this human drama, or where the hardships have a subtle appearance, a lot of things give us character. And sometimes the most attractive of those is the wear marks on a person. But it takes a great soul to read them and have compassion and love for them.
