I noticed in another thread that was erased (thank you, Fred) a question was asked where all the Holdemans have gone. Someone answered that revivals may be occuring, and indeed they have been here. It was a very blessed and encouraging time for us here.
Here are my notes from the 1st evening:
1st Evening:
Introduction:
Speaker was impressed with the account in Acts 19 about when those who turned their backs on their old lives made a complete commitment to the new. Act 19:13-19
Evangelist 1:
Text:
Hebrews 11:5-6
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Colossians 1:13
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Colossians 3:1-3
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Hebrews 11:13-16
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Summary of message:
We are translated when we accept in faith the blood of Christ. We have a country we are born in, the sin country. Other terms for translation that we use are converted and born again. When we accept Jesus we are translated to another place, the kingdom of God.
When Enoch was translated, he was not found in his old country. When we are translated, we also are not found pursuing our old sinful ways. Our old friends still living in rebellion may well wonder where our old selves went.
If those who died in faith would have been mindful of the country that they departed from, then they well may have had reason to return. If we are mindful of the old life of sin, so we also will find reason to return. As the patriarchs of old declared that they sought a better country, so are the Christians today, we seek those things that are heavenly.

Have you had any old fashioned Hell fire sermons, TR? How about something on the "drift"? Do you find yourself dozing off or are you fixated on every word, most of which you have heard a million times before? Anything new, TR, or is it the same old gruel?
