On this Easter morning I am reminded that if, in your faith, your church, your daily living, God is not alive to and in you, but is more dead in religion of the past, or at least afar off, you, and the church are more likely to move towards that which is a lie, a counterfeit, but appears to have the "life" your soul seeks. People often think of the worldly seeking a sign with this verse, and yet todays church provides to its members the fulfillment of this verse within the church. For when the antichrist first comes into power these "counterfeits" will look very religious. Look at todays service, how easy it is for those of religion to feel that their faith is alive. But this feeling does not last long and the searching continues for there is no truth in it. But if He is in and with you daily, then true miracles, signs and wonders are alive always to you. He is Alive! He is Risen!

It's Biblical to believe or assume that those who work good and positive miracles by prayer do so by the power of God!
Well, what does that say about those who perform wonders which are temporary i.e. counterfeit?
There is an ego-man that sets up as God in God's temple; the wonders this one performs will be temporary which is the counterfeit. This one parrots God. This one tries to copy God. The temporary thing is the counterfeit thing. When the living God does something miraculous though a believer's prayer, it has lasting value and purpose!
There are those who believe that they are born of God's Spirit but in a few short hours they realize that it was only some good sentiments they enjoyed for a short time. A new creation is a new creation and has nothing to do with sentiments or emotion! Emotion can be a good thing if the emotion is quickened by God, while sentiments themselves being of the five sense realm are that which competes with the Spirit of God.
Jesus said I do nothing until I first see the Father doing it! That's the key. That reveals the God-type humility. The ego-man is not in operation in this type humility.
Bennie Hinn? It is he who must determine whether he is operating by what he sees the Father doing or by what the ego-man part of him desires to do. We do not need to judge him, a much higher truth judges all of us.

So very true. A couple weeks ago I was sharing with the men in my mens study group about how bitter I was getting toward the h church and how it seemed that it was eating me up. They set me on a chair in the middle of the room and all gathered around me and prayed for that spirit to leave me.
On the way home that night it felt as tho God reached down and washed my heart. Those feelings of bitterness all left. It seemed that God showed me that I had been trying to prove the h wrong. He showed me that that was not my responsibility. Just love them.

Thank God for the answer to prayer. Living Faith at work! Pray that God can give me the answers and the help I need.
If we knew what you need we could pray more accurately. You do not need to say anything here. Find a good friend you trust and agree in prayer with him, hands on praying. I can believe that things can get pretty alone and sad.
A man needs to be believed in and admired in his daily life. If not he is alone and that's not good. I will make it a point to pray in general ways Amos.
In my personal life I have been in squeezy and pinched places. I believe in you my man! I saw your heart.
Bryon, I think I know what you are talking about! But the errERRRrrRR! in the heart does go (or at least lessens) away over time, until they do their "thing" on you again, then bamm!. It comes back!
In my opinion that is precisely so Fred. However this verse sets into a certain setting and that setting seems to get laid aside in the fray of religious energies.
Until we recognize where this evil has set itself/himself up we will not understand this type thing. And yes that is the platform from which a physical rapture theory is launched. The theory suggests this; when a physical rapture occurs the Spirit of God is presumed to leave this earth as well. The idea is that the Spirit of God does not allow this sin-man to be revealed therefore the Spirit of God must leave the scene. This theory presumes this to be the truth while the real truth is quite contrary to this; it is actually the man-of-sin that is taken out of the way for it is he who withholds the glory of God! God does not withhold the glory of Christ! God encourages Christ to manifest!
This evil one; the sin-man, the ego-man, the religious-man is set up in the temple of God i.e. in the born again believer and proclaims that he is God. This same one will call his theory, a fact. Only the ego will call a theory a fact for that is the point of it's security. If a thing is a theory it is alright to realizes it as that. The internal ego-man finds his security in quite a different light than does the inner-man who is being renewed day by day by the Love of Christ!
There is a mystery of God and there is a mystery of iniquity and both are working parallel in the temple of God i.e. in each born again believer.
There are two in the temple. Which one finally wins becomes quite important for it is the withholding one who does not allow the glory or rule of God to manifest in this believer!
On the ground, the real difference between these forces in us is unconditional love versus conditional love!

If the doctrine of the ego-man in the matters of religion becomes a group thing, rather than only an individual thing, we now have a leaven that has leavened the whole lump. The lump can be our whole person or the lump can be a whole group of persons. There certainly is no safety in numbers at this point.
The ego-man i.e. the sin-man has now set himself up corporately in the temple of God and is calling himself God i.e. the one in control. In this way an authority has been assumed in the same way that it occurred in the house of Israel by the time Jesus arrived. [Our word] is the final authority, this is how it plays itself out.
It may be obvious that the temple itself is that of the real God but the ego-man has also set himself up in the temple with the claim of being exclusive and authoritive. Control is what comes next. This is the false god in the temple exalting himself to the position of God. Authority that God has given to his people is authority over sin, sickness, disease, and devils! Any other authority hails directly from the raw and unfettered ego. The ego may well be white-washed by certain scriptures but it's no more than the ego-man in operation.
This is the mystery of iniquity at work. In other Biblical terms it's decribed as being Nocolatian in nature. Husbands can become Nicolatian toward their wives in the name of certain passages taken out of their context. A husband has no functional authority at all until the wife recognizes him and is humble toward him. She will not likely be humble toward him until he loves her unconditionally! Why would she? The wife has a great authority here. The wife sets the tone for things as Eve did in Eden, only Eve set the tone in the wrong way for Adam. By how Adam answered God a thing is revealed. It appears that Adam did not love Eve as God loved her. We will let that rest.
Who else would do the Nicolatian thing other than the sin-man or the ego-man who's white-washed himself by anchoring himself in certain passages out and away from their real context? This is how the leaven of the Pharisees and Scribes got up and going. The law initially was not law at all; commands were given by God and these commands were unto Life it says!
The Scribes and Pharisees had the whole thing out and away from it's real context. The serpent of Eden continues to speak true things out of their context to mankind; Jesus called these a fruit-basket of vipers. Whow!
We must purge out the old leaven or this can occur in any one of us or in any group of us. Unless we purge out the old leaven [it's so common] the mystery of God can never be finished within us! John speaks to the idea of the mystery of God being finished in his revelation of Christ! This mystery of God is Christ in us the hope of Glory!
