Ooookkkkaaayyy... Not sure what triggered this thread, but I'm guessing someone in the religious right media is stirring up anti-UN sentiment again.

Stevie, what is with you and the "religious right media"? Are they some sort of cabal of villians out to destroy your world or something? Or are they part of the "vast right-wing conspiracy" that Hillary was always whining about when the real problem was that clown perv of a husband she had? Ever stop to think that some people don't give a rats butt about the UN, the EU, the IMF or any other group of letters?

Yeah, and maybe the attitude that 'some people' have about 'groups of letters' is part of the reason that certain other people flew airplanes into skyscrapers a few years ago. Just saying.

I personally know and am freinds with a lot of Arab people. I know people from Palestine, Jordan, Iran, Pakistan, Geogia, and India. They tell me that the nutcases back in their homelands absolutly hate western civilisation. It doesn't matter wahat we do or say they hate us. The only thing that could change that is for us to convert to Islam and obey the sharia law. One palistinian who grew up in Jerusalem remembers when he was a teen two men where caught engaging in immoral behavior and the mob killed them right there. There are a lot of decent peole there but the ones caught up in fanaticism which is a large percentace want us dead.

Nope Stevie, the muslim nut jobs that killed themselves and all the truely innocent people on 9/11 were acting on the orders of the head nut job Osama who is quite clear that he doesn't want western infidels on his holy sand pit of a country. So the US would be far better off getting the heck out of the mideast, buy their oil and let those bloodthirsty camel jokeys slaughter each other. Well TM, if what you say is true then there are 3 options:
1. Let them kill all non-muslims
2. Convert all muslims to Christianity
3. Go Old Testament on the muslims and kill every one of them

Now I'm not keen on #1 or #3 and I have my doubts that #2 can be done.

I didn't mention any others. It was my opinion and you jumped to conclusions without knowing what was behind it, the same way your accusing "some people" do.

Why shouldn't Canada be the host for awhile? Wouldn't they consider it an honor? Maybe they can't afford it? Maybe they would be scared to? How about you telling why it shouldn't be moved to Canada or why it should be moved, instead of writing about the attitude that "some people" have.

With all the economy problems USA is having, I think they could cut budget some by moving it even though we only have to pay 40% of the expenses and the rest is suppose to be paid by other countries. (Suppose to be is right, if I understand right, they all don't.) And why should one country have to pay the largest %? calledoutPTL

Brent R, how about adding a fourth option.

4. Dont kill them or convert them. Just play defense and take actions to prevent them from inflicting more 911 type crimes. Practice self-sustaining energy and resource methods and quit using our power to amass so much of the worlds resources. Stop meddling so much with foreign affairs, and promote education, health awareness and human rights whenever possible in those countries. After a generation or so, I am quite confident hostilities will decrease.

To do otherwise is to continue to invite hostilities for generations to come. You cant kill your way out of this mess and hope to have sustaining peace.

But Stan, how will Haliburton, Boeing and Lockheed Martin and the rest of the oil industry and the military-industrial complex continue to make money so that poor people like Dick Cheney can survive the economic downturn?
